The Persuader

If warfare's constants govern every dispute and negotiation, what must someone master to navigate daily life? Can a 2,500-year-old military guide help them win? What kind of strategist emerges when survival depends not on strength, but on reading the situation before making any move? Find out.

Sun Wu grows up hidden in a forest stronghold during the Warring States period, where Er Shi of Shen trains abandoned children as instruments of precision, not destruction. They master blades and bows, but languages, medicine, and persuasion come first. One lesson repeats until it becomes instinct: the mind cuts deeper than any weapon, and every death represents a failure of better options.

Then fire destroys everything. Sun Wu escapes with orders stripped of sentiment: Survive. Adapt. Use the mind before reaching for the blade.

What follows breaks the mould of military legend. Sun Wu walks from state to state, solving problems rulers cannot name and civilians cannot escape. A merchant faces ruin from a larger trading family's tactics. A town suffers under a warlord's grip. A commander faces overwhelming odds. Egos collide; greed and ignorance take their toll. Each crisis reveals the same forces Sun Wu was trained to recognize terrain, timing, morale, and human pressure points.

The pattern becomes clear. Family arguments follow the same principles as military campaigns. Both sides assess strength, probe weakness, choose ground. Both escalate when pride blocks retreat. Market competition mirrors battlefield maneuver. The laws of conflict don't change because the stakes shrink.
This is Sun Wu before the battlefield made reputation. The great Sun Tzu, with a mind trained for war, tested in everyday conflicts, discovering that strategy isn't a specialized skill for generals but a universal tool for anyone facing opposition, scarcity, or fear.
Alcibia V Agrienes (Alcibia. The Persuader.)

"Will your masters seek peace or fight?" Alcibia's question cut straight to the heart of the matter.
"Fight." Aurelius spoke like a man who had cast his words into a sea of indifference, watching them sink without a trace. "They will not listen; they only fear the sound of their silver and gold moving from their purse into another's. Oh, they are not my masters, they are my employers."

Alcibiades faces an impossible task: save Agrienes from enemies both outside and within. While barbarian armies gather, hungry for plunder, the city's own ruling families tear at its foundations with their greed and corruption.

Raised by a father who believed in diplomacy's power, Alcibiades now stands at a crossroads where words alone cannot defend the wealthy city. Yet as a military commander witnessing daily injustices - noblemen's sons committing heinous crimes without consequence, merchants crushed under protection rackets, common citizens living in fear - he knows that traditional warfare would only feed the predators circling Agrienes' walls.

Perfect for readers who love intricate political intrigue, complex strategy, and heroes who must think their way out of impossible situations. Join Alcibiades as he plays the longest game, where the stakes are an entire city's soul, and one wrong move means death.

Alcibia V Tigonus (Alcibia. The Persuader.)

Tigonus, almighty undefeated warlord, eh? Tactical genius? Drink my blood, will you? My, what a huge army you command. You know swords and catapults, but do you grasp the threat a basket of apples poses? The power of ink and paper against flesh and steel? You may be a genius, but your mind is mine. Glad to know you. Better still, I understand you.

The exact second you understand my plan is the exact second you realize you've already lost.

Tigonus thinks an easy victory over Ethea, eh? Thinks I will be a pushover, does he? Underestimates me, appreciate the favour. Father's diplomatic lessons and my own bloodied fields taught me one truth: strategy plays havoc with brute strength, even snap it clean. No open brawl for us. No, sir; I weaved a plan so crazy my own advisors whisper I've cracked. Weapons? Baskets of fruit. Cobs of corn. Laughable? Wait and see.

Armies growl, blades itch for blood, but my moves unfold like a grandmaster's trap. Precision, every step. Fruit baskets roll out, signal for the shadow war. Tigonus? Built his throne on gore and terror. Now? Strategy’s silk noose, deception's fog will take you down, hard. You will only see your defeat over your shoulder. Delicious.

Whispers slither through your camp. Spies I plant drop poison words. Misdirection turns your allies sour; sows mutiny in the ranks. I prod your into blunders that bleed you dry. Battlefield? No clash of iron. Just wits. My playthings now. When you finally see my full scheme? Too late, warlord. Checkmate.

No legion pins you. Just one man's mind, seeing war beyond the hack and slash. Roman cunning, Fabius torching Campanian fields, Polyaenus would've nodded. Sun Tzu's ghost grins in the shadows. Intellect buries brute force every time.

Me? I am no common grunt. Father's silver tongue, my frontline scars, negotiation's knife-edge, they forged my spine and my mind. How will I gain a true win? Know your foe inside out. Flip his game, his might, right back at him. Tigonus looms, raw fury made flesh, reputation built on a mountain of mangled foes. Our duel? Bigger than spears. Philosophy of blade versus a cunning brain.

At its core, this tale toasts ingenuity's bite, restraint's edge, and that eternal kick fells titans.

Alcibia v Tigonus drags you deep where victory brews in the shadows, long before the first horn blows."
ALCIBIA v RAINULF (Alcibia. The Persuader.)

In a merciless age of steel and strategy, three armies hang by a thread. The brilliant Alcibia and unyielding Rainulf battle each other as uneasy allies, their toxic rivalry endangering thousands under their command. But while they scheme and maneuver, the ruthless Aetien stalks them both from a distance, waiting to turn their conflict into mutual annihilation.

How many lives is a reputation worth?

Alcibia, the brilliant but haunted commander, wields strategy like a blade, carving his victories in the minds of his adversaries long before the first arrow flies. His arena is not the battlefield but the human mind, where patience and guile unravel the mightiest foes. Rainulf, a hardened warlord of the frozen north, believes in steel over schemes. He leads his men with iron conviction, his victories forged in the crucible of combat, where strength and fury reign supreme. Opposing them both stands Aetien, a master tactician who blends raw force with cunning, a predator stalking his prey, ready to strike when weakness is revealed.
The tale begins in a desert where Alcibia and Rainulf, now uneasy allies, are torn apart by mistrust and ambition. Rainulf, desperate to return home with plunder to pay his men, is lured by whispers of a rich caravan. Alcibia, bound by promises he can no longer keep, crafts a desperate plan to sacrifice his ally to their common enemy, Aetien. Yet guilt and the ghost of his father’s lessons haunt him, forcing him to choose between honor and expediency.

As their paths converge in the shadow of an impending ambush, each man fights on his own battlefield. For Alcibia, the war is one of wits and persuasion, of delicate moves that could sway minds or shatter alliances. Rainulf faces the raw challenge of survival, commanding warriors on the edge of rebellion, their hunger for gold and blood threatening to unravel his command. Aetien, the relentless hunter, lies in wait, poised to exploit the fractures between his enemies.

Across deserts, mountains, and blood-stained ravines, the story unfolds with relentless tension. Ambushes are laid and betrayed; loyalty is tested and shattered. As the stakes rise, the question looms: which battlefield will determine the war's outcome; the clash of swords or the battle of minds?

This a story of survival, betrayal, and redemption where every move counts and every mistake leaves scars. Dive into a world where strategy is as deadly as steel, and the fate of warriors lies in the hands of those who dare to lead.

Five Elements Of Victory

Why do some people win consistently while others, just as talented, just as driven, watch opportunities slip away?

The difference is not luck or intelligence. It is mastery of five specific elements that have determined victory for 2,500 years.

THE 5 ELEMENTS OF VICTORY decodes Sun Tzu's principles through the lens of a military historian who has spent twenty years studying why battles, businesses, and careers succeed or fail. You will not find philosophical abstractions here. You will discover the exact patterns that separate winners from everyone else.

THE FIVE ELEMENTS:

TIMING : At Austerlitz, Napoleon faced 85,000 enemy troops with only 73,000 men. He waited. For days, he appeared weak, retreating, vulnerable. Then at the precise moment Russian confidence peaked, he struck at their overextended center. Four hours later, he won. Timing transformed inferior numbers into decisive victory. You will learn to recognize when pushing forward accelerates success and when patience multiplies your advantage.

ASYMMETRY : Alexander conquered the Persian Empire despite being outnumbered at every major battle. His secret: he never fought the war his enemies expected. When you face opponents with bigger budgets, larger teams, or more resources, this element shows you how to reframe the contest entirely. Make them play your game, not theirs.

UNITY : The 1980 US Olympic hockey team defeated the Soviet Union, considered invincible, because coach Herb Brooks forged absolute unity of purpose. Talented individuals lose to united teams every time. You will discover how to align your organization, family, or group so completely that obstacles become fuel rather than barriers.

PREPARATION : Steve Jobs spent years preparing the iPhone launch, anticipating every question, every objection, every scenario. When he walked on stage, competitors scrambled while he executed flawlessly. This element teaches you to prepare so thoroughly that your readiness becomes intimidation. Your competitors sense your confidence and doubt themselves before competing.

AUTONOMY : General Patton demanded freedom to exploit opportunities without waiting for permission. Bureaucratic commanders lost battles while asking for approval. Leaders who command both authority and independence adapt instantly, seizing fleeting advantages. You will learn to build systems that give you freedom to act decisively.

Each principle comes with historical proof and modern application, from boardroom negotiations to championship performances.

This book serves anyone competing for something that matters leaders building organizations, entrepreneurs fighting for market position, professionals pursuing advancement, or anyone facing decisions where stakes run high.
The five elements wait inside. Master them, and you master your domain.

Aesop Tactical Genius

Aesop was not just a mastermind in creating and telling fables, he was a tactical genius. His insight into the ways and faults of people is as relevant and significant in his times as it is today. His genius for his messages on moral behavior is well-known but his detailed grasp on the weaknesses, failings, flaws, imperfections, faults, and defects of humans is not.

Underneath the entertaining and educational stories, there are countless tactical lessons on offer. Did Aesop knowingly and intentionally blend his tactical genius inside the fables? Practically, it does not matter. His fables are not bed-time stories, he created his fables for adult audiences. Sadly, his tactical genius is rarely appreciated.

To correct this error, The Art of War by Chinese general Sun Tzu, the oldest and most revered treatise on conflict resolution, is used to reveal Aesop’s true brilliance. Strategy and tactics are Aesop’s’ tools in trade.
Aesop did not create bedtime stories. From engaging crowds, he advised and entertained kings, queens and other powerful individuals with his deep, intricate, and oft misunderstood fables.

THE EAGLE, THE CAT, AND THE WILD SOW fable contains at least one lesson from every chapter of the Art of War. Just this one fable provides a wealth of knowledge on tactical warfare. The subtle and artful way the CAT defeated two enemies with one strategy, without any violence, would make the revered General Sun Tzu smile. It is a lesson everyone should learn.

How to manoeuvre an enemy into a weaker position is revealed in THE OWL AND THE GRASSHOPPER. Did the GRASSHOPPER stand any chance? THE LION AND THE FOUR BULLS fable deepens the understanding on the use of this tactic. The LION defeats an overwhelming enemy with only words, carefully chosen and even more carefully spoken.

A second vital lesson is the importance of penetrating deception while using a deception of your own. Discover how the HORSE defeats the WOLF by piercing the deception. Multiple deceptions are in THE WOLF, THE FOX, AND THE AILING LION allegory and the dire results of not understanding a threat hidden behind a fraud. This fable also highlights the dangers when forming alliances, especially false alliances.

The importance of fully understanding a situation is revealed in THE LARK AND HER CHICKS. This and knowing the nature of mankind. This theme is also explored in the fable, THE HUNTER AND THE HORSEMAN. The second lesson in both fables in the words of Sun Tzu is “rely not on the likelihood of the enemy's not coming, but on our own readiness to receive him; not on the chance of his not attacking, but rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable.” Tough times are a permanent feature in everyone’s lives, both men warn us to be prepared for them.
THE WOLF, THE FOX, AND THE AILING LION is as fast paced as it is short. The WOLF sets a trap for the FOX, but the quick-witted FOX turns the table on the wicked WOLF. The fate of the WOLF is not for the feint-hearted.
The tragedies of Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) reflect Aesop’s warning in THE BUTCHER AND HIS FLOCK. How many times has Aesop’s’ warning been ignored throughout history? If we don’t look after others, who will look after us when dark times overwhelm the best of us?

His tactical genius is easily missed because of his brevity. His fables are short yet contain multiple messages in each. Only with the help of a highly esteemed veteran general can his messages be decoded properly. Sun Tzu is also brief with his maxims, containing many messages in the fewest words. Together, they open a doorway into a deep understanding of how strategy and tactics effect our daily lives.

Each fable and maxim are powerful on their own. Each fable and maxim are blocks that when combined provide a unique education. From leadership to forming critical alliances and protecting ourselves from attack, the wisdom of both men offer powerful defensive weapons.

SunTzuDo: Silent Victory

What can a single cat teach about strategy? In SunTzuDo: Silent Victory, one simple Aesop fable becomes a lesson in survival, foresight, and asymmetric warfare. When faced with deadly threats from both an eagle and a wild sow, the cat must protect her kittens. Her choices, timing, positioning, and exploiting the weaknesses of her opponents, illustrate the principles of Sun Tzu’s Art of War in action.

Readers follow the cat as she navigates danger, using indirect tactics to outmaneuver her foes and secure safety. Maxims such as “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles” and “Therefore, the clever combatant imposes their will on the adversary but does not allow the adversary's will to be imposed on them.” illuminate her decisions, showing how careful judgment and cunning can turn a perilous situation into an advantage.

The narrative approach makes strategy tangible. The cat’s actions are vivid and relatable, turning abstract maxims into concrete lessons about anticipating threats, exploiting opportunity, and applying asymmetric thinking to protect what matters most. The story engages readers while inviting reflection on how strategic principles operate in any high-stakes situation.

SunTzuDo: Silent Victory transforms a simple fable into a focused study of strategy, demonstrating that even the smallest actors can succeed through intelligence, timing, and the careful use of advantage. This book is for anyone who wants to see strategy in motion and understand the logic behind actions under pressure.

SunTzuDo: Commanders Caesar

Unlock strategic brilliance! Explore a book intertwining Julius Caesar and Sun Tzu. Witness the fusion of ancient Roman and Chinese prowess and wisdom, offering unique and profound insights for decision making, leadership, strategy, and life challenges. Dive into a captivating blend of historical genius and timeless principles.

Julius Caesar, a prominent Roman figure, and Sun Tzu, a distinguished Chinese general and philosopher, though separated by distinct cultures and eras, surprisingly shared noteworthy commonalities in their roles as leaders and strategic thinkers. Caesar, a Roman citizen, ascended to the rank of general and eventually the esteemed political office of Pontifex Maximus, demonstrating his multifaceted influence in Roman politics, military, and religious spheres. Similarly, Sun Tzu, a Chinese military strategist, served as a general and left a lasting impact as an author and philosopher, contributing significantly to understanding strategic principles in warfare and conflict. The common ground extends beyond their official roles.

Despite the geographical and cultural differences separating them, Julius Caesar and Sun Tzu share a profound commonality in leadership, a deep understanding of strategic principles, and a pragmatic approach to the complexities of their respective roles. These commonalities underscore the universal nature of effective leadership and strategic thinking, transcending cultural and historical boundaries.

1. Strategic Vision: Caesar and Sun Tzu were remarkably able to imagine, create, and execute complex military strategies. They understood the importance of careful planning, adaptability, and the need to account for various factors in achieving success on the battlefield.

2. Emphasis on Knowledge and Understanding: Both leaders emphasized the importance of knowing oneself, the adversary, and the environment as the first step to understanding how to defeat them with strategy and not fighting. Caesar's famous quote, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" ("I came, I saw, I conquered"), highlights the value he placed on perceptive assessment and knowledge. Similarly, Sun Tzu's emphasis on understanding the terrain and the enemy's disposition emphasises the significance of comprehensive knowledge and understanding.

3. Psychological Warfare: Caesar and Sun Tzu recognized the power of psychological warfare. They understood how fear, deception, and morale could significantly impact the outcome of a conflict. Sun Tzu's teachings, in particular, delve deeply into the psychological aspects of warfare and the manipulation of an adversary's mindset.

4. Focus on Avoiding Unnecessary Conflict: Both leaders recognized the value of avoiding unnecessary conflict. Caesar's preference for diplomacy when possible and Sun Tzu's emphasis on winning without fighting highlight their shared belief that preserving resources and lives should always be the first step towards resolving a conflict. Julius Caesar and Sun Tzu are remarkable figures in military history. Each contributes uniquely to the understanding of warfare, strategy, and leadership. Both are geniuses in conflict management. Even with Caesar's incredible success extensively documented, the intricacies of his strategic thinking pose a challenge to unravel. Sun Tzu's preciseness and conciseness present a cerebral challenge, often perceived as too intellectual for practical application.

Together, they form a dynamic duo. Caesar's captivating real-life actions find explanation and depth through the maxims of Sun Tzu. The brilliance of Sun Tzu's theoretical treatise gains practicality and life through Caesar's military prowess. This synergistic relationship between the Roman general and the Chinese philosopher enriches our understanding of strategic thinking, conflict management and decision-making. Their combined legacy provides a proven source of knowledge for those seeking to navigate the complexities of today.

From smokescreens to dissolving stones and sharp hustles, experience diverse and ingenious thinking. Sun Tzu reveals practical principles from history, providing invaluable insights into conflict management and strategic mastery.

Sun Tzu, the ancient Chinese strategist, asserted in "The Art of War" that warfare principles are paramount for any nation, dictating success or failure, shaping a secure or ruined future. This significance demands meticulous study.

In contrast, Prussian general Carl von Clausewitz likened war to a colossal duel, encompassing battles that makeup wars. He emphasized the multifaceted nature of conflict, from national wars to personal disputes like sibling rivalry or divorces.

Clausewitz prioritized physical battles, but Sun Tzu, differing in philosophy, underscored the importance of winning the psychological battle first. Mastering mental and psychological aspects is paramount to executing a strategy effectively.

Our innate inclination for strategy exists and persists from birth to death, manifesting in conflict resolution through design and tactics. This instinct has propelled humanity from caves to condominiums, to explore the bottom of the ocean and the surface of the Mars. "The Art of War" extends beyond its military context, offering invaluable guidance for managing conflicts in daily life.

Understanding this ancient philosophy is central to enhancing problem-solving abilities and enriching and harmonizing our lives. Sun Tzu's claim that warfare relies on deception holds universally, past, present, and future. Learning from historical commanders, we grasp the practical application of Sun Tzu's maxims, witnessing how strategy, even in personal endeavours, dictates success.

Leaders like Hanno, Himilco, Cresphontes, Demophon, Cypselus, Acuēs, Cleomenes, Polydorus, Cato and Ventidius had to be great problem solvers, their lives and the lives of those relying on them depended on it.

Hanno imposed his will on two enemies simultaneously to solve several problems, a feat not often accomplished. Himilco used fire and smoke to thwart a Roman blockade. Cresphontes used a brilliant deception to change history and avoid bloodshed when his brothers decided to divide the government of the Peloponnese. The wise and courageous Agamemnon was fooled by Demophon to accept with satisfaction a fake idol. Was roadside baskets of corn used to avoid a bloody war?

What change in the accepted manner of identifying oneself did Acuēs change to successfully defend Tegea? Discover how Cleomenes relied on the established communications network to fool and defeat the Argives. How did Polydorus finally end a twenty-year war using the Direct and Indirect? Ventidius’ victory is a masterpiece of using communication to dictate the actions of an adversary. He actions also reveal the difference between speed and rapidity.

Two geniuses. Two men. Two veteran generals. Two different countries. Two diverse cultures. One goal

From Hannibal, Caesar and Frontinus to Napoleon Bonaparte, all victorious leaders studied those who successfully went to war before them. The best way to learn is to learn is not just from the mistakes of others but also from their successes. Why did all these great war chiefs do this? Simple, they realised that all successful people, from the beginning of time are exceedingly skilful at strategizing and using tactics. History shows this over and over.

Here for the first time you can read the words of two great military geniuses and study them on the same page. No interference. No meddling. Add to this, the daring, intelligent, successful true deeds of the most amazing generals of the Roman era. The examples of Julius Frontinus include Themistocles, Epaminondas and Cimon, Pericles the Athenian, Alcibiades, Agesilaus II, Xenophon of Athens, Pyrrhus, Hannibal Barca, Publius Cornelius Scipio, Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix, Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus and Julius Caesar. The examples of Frontinus tell us what happened and the philosophy of Sun Tzu reveals the true forces that the victorious commanders controlled to achieve the victory.
The weapons may have changed, the capacity of destruction may have increased beyond imagination, however, the role of the general, the sovereign, the commander, the person in charge has not. The blood-drenched wisdom and experience apply equally today as the moment Julius Frontinus wrote them down over two thousand years ago. If time is a testament to the validity of the truth, then surely the words of both Sun Tzu and Julius Frontinus have passed the test of time with flying colours.

Ask yourself if you can afford to ignore the genius of these two highly studied and revered generals? If not then A Chinese Philosophy on Stratagems is a must for your library.

The Art of War for Today Vol 1

The Art of War is an extremely misleading title for this ancient book. Who wants to fight wars? The reason this is a bad title since the book is no longer about war. So, ignore the title of Sun Tzu's book and the fact that he was a general during China's bloodiest period in Chinese history.

A more appropriate title would be Ancient Conflict Resolution Dynamics. Who doesn't deal with conflict on a daily basis nowadays? Another possibility is How to Win Without Fighting. What a relief it would be to go every day without fighting. The Art of Keeping the Peace would be a better title.

Sun Tzu stated that fighting and winning every battle is not the best way to live life. He believed that achieving goals without fighting was better achieved through the use of subtle and effective strategies and tactics.
Would you be surprised to learn that Sun Tzu was a philosopher as well as a skilled general? His primary philosophy and practice, outlined in 385 maxims but ignored by most pundits, is 'winning without fighting'. His ultimate goal was to win without conflict, but a fight is sometimes inevitable. He wrote about how to win quickly and on your terms because he was a rational person. It seems that Karens had to have existed back then. A classic example of how, while times and weapons change, people do not.

My experiences teaching, advising, and applying Sun Tzu's philosophy have shown that many people who could benefit from the book have a difficult time grasping the ancient maxims. Understanding how any book written more than two millennia ago is still relevant to modern times and challenges is the first barrier that newcomers face. My book is intended to help newcomers overcome this seemingly insurmountable barrier.

The title Art of Conflict Management has replaced the title Art of War. With the invention of the internet and a flood of new and easier ways to communicate, avoiding conflict is more difficult than ever. Lives are more hectic, and conflict stalks our waking hours in ways never before encountered in history. Sun Tzu could not predict this period of time, but he recorded his philosophy so that you and I can avoid them and, if we can't avoid them, deal with them more efficiently and effectively.
Today, conflict is unavoidable; misery and defeat are not. The philosophy and maxims of Sun Tzu help the reader understand the nature and dynamics of conflict. With this knowledge and understanding, we can better prepare ourselves and improve our conflict resolution skills.

This book is the first step to smash the first barrier to reaping the rewards of Sun Tzu’s conflict management philosophy. We can make better choices and enjoy a better life and lifestyle if we have a better understanding of conflict.
